Every car regardless of brand, model, engine size, etc. has a so-called identification number called the VIN. Toyota cars are not an exception. Since 1981, the manufacturer has supplied each model coming off the conveyor with such an identification number. Vehicles for different markets have different VIN codes that are easily deciphered by the VIN decoder Toyota.
On some cars, this number is located in the upper left part of the instrument panel and is visible through the windshield. Some models (for example, Previa) allow you to see the Toyota VIN in the upper right part of the front cover. In such models as Liteace, Dyna, Hiace, this number is applied either on the floor under the driver's feet or under the driver's seat. In Toyota Corolla, Camry, Carina II, Celica, Land Cruiser, the VIN code can be seen in the engine compartment, on the front of the body, it's usually on the left.
The VIN code consists of 17 characters including both alphabetic designations and numbers. The first three positions of the Toyota VIN number are assigned to the world manufacturer index called the WMI.
The Toyota Vin decoder deciphers the code the following way. The first position determines the country of the manufacturer. For example, J stands for Japan and S for Great Britain. The second position denotes the plant where the car was manufactured (T stands for Toyota). The third position allows you to find out the region where the vehicle was manufactured. For example, 1 refers to Europe, 2 means the USA / Canada, 3, 4, 8, B, C mean the countries of the Persian Gulf, 7 - Australia and other countries, 0 is for Taiwan or Singapore.

The fourth and fifth positions in the VIN number Toyota allow you to determine the body type of this Toyota model. The interpretation of such notations is quite simple. So, a jeep or a minivan with a standard roof is numbered 11, with an elevated roof it gets number 12. If you see 21 or 22 on the 4-5 positions, it is a Hiace with a standard or raised roof respectively. The Hilux or a single-cab (Dyna) truck has a number 31. The number 41 is the Hiace Commuter (Coaster) bus with a standard roof, number 42 with a raised roof, 43 is with a high roof. With the number 52, more traditional bodies begin. So, the number 52 means that this car was made in the body of a hatchback with two doors, 54 has four doors. For sedans (such as Corolla), the manufacturer has provided the number 53. The coupe is issued under the number of a body 63, liftback has 64.
If you can't stand the monotonous process of decoding on your own, you can always use a free Toyota VIN number decoder. Even if you enter the code, it won't go to someone else and no one will find out that you have checked it. Even if any person on the planet finds out the code of your Toyota, he or she won't be able to do something with it at all. So decoding online is safe. Among the Toyota VIN decoder options, there's deciphering the letters. We've discussed how to check the figures, so let's proceed to something else.
The letters that are in the seventh position of the code refer to the manufacturer model (for example, Corolla). Decoding this position allows you to get the following information. So, the letter B stands for Toyota Coaster. C is for Previa and RAV4, D means Mega Cruiser. E is for S-class Corolla sedan. N and K are reserved for Hiace. J means that the model is a Land Cruiser. L stands for Paseo. The designation T is used for models such as Carina, Corona and Celica or even Avensis. The letter U means the Dyna 200. For the favorite Camry brand, the letter V is assigned. Other designations such as W, X, Y mean models such as MR2.
The VIN-code is the identification number of each model of the Toyota manufacturer, where the necessary information about a particular car is encrypted (for example, Toyota Corolla). The Toyota VIN number decoder allows you to find out the country and region of production, plant, body type and model, engine series, and other useful information.
